As a dog owner, we know that your four-legged friend is a valued member of the family and your holiday just wouldn’t be the same without them. So, at Driftwood Retreat we welcome dog guests and want them to have a great holiday too.

What could be better than starting each day of your holiday with an early morning walk on the beach and then to finish the day stretched out beside the cosy log fire; dog heaven!

We make sure everything is set for you and your pooch before you arrive and provide poo bags, sofa throws, toys, holiday collar tags, dog first aid kit, treats and of course access to great beach walks and countryside.

Alongside our stunning location we have a large enclosed garden. This means you can let them out just as you would at home so they can play and explore in complete safety.

All the local beaches are quiet and dog friendly with no restrictions on dogs. Boulmer beach is on your doorstep and from here you can head south to Alnmouth or North to Craster and beyond.

Bamburgh Beach is a great place for dogs as there’s not only the fantastic beach but there are also huge sand dunes for them to play in, our dog Zac loves nothing better than a game of hide and seek with our son.

Low Newton/Embleton beach is beautiful with stunning views of Dunstanburgh castle. Another family favourite is Warkworth beach, beautiful golden sands and huge sand dunes. We can also provide you with a list of dog friendly places to eat in the area.
